Here is one of the current hot shot guitarists from Germany with his band. He has great tone and plays beautifully.

But I cannot bear watching this for more than a fraction of a minute ...

It's pretty awesome actually. Guitar faces are a bit over, but that's part of the game. Nothing that Ronnie Earl or others don't do

Great stuff! Beautiful tone for sure! And, I don't know, I think he looks happy, which is a bit different for blues players than say SRV's painful face grimaces...;)

Why? That sounds pretty good. Nice touch. Great hat.

I dunno, that seems pretty tame as far as guitar face goes... the smile is kind of creepy though :D

He came across quite cool and sympathetic in an article in a German musician's magazine I am subscribed to, which made me look him up on Youtube. I do like the music, love the guitar playing and can get over the lyrics (to a certain point). Maybe one had to be in the room to be more tuned in with the stage dynamics.

Here is the website of his current project; his former band was called Errorhead.

Great stuff, despite the faces, I have to admit ...

Joe Walsh has some of the worst. So I listen to him instead of watch him.

He’d be nothing without that necklace.

Good playing but yeah, those faces...ugh. He made me make faces watching him.

Este Haim bassist for Haim. On my phone so you'll have to do your own googling but carrying on the guitar face for a new generation.

Y'know the guitar face was good enough for BB King so it's good enough for me is my thinking.

Edit: beaten to it on the Haim front.

I think this is a common problem, but when I use to gig a lot, at times when I hit some intense part of the song, my eyes would go kinda haywire. They would wonder around and make me look stupid.
That’s the main reason I wore sunglasses on stage.
I didn’t realize I was even doing it until a girlfriend told me about it.
According to her, it was a look somewhere between an orgasm and passing a peach pit.
It was a simple fix, the shades cover took care of the problem, and I always assumed that was why other players wore shades in a dark room.

The whole idea of guitar faces is to make relatively easy bends or licks look deceptively difficult. It's an art form.

I am going off topic a little with this one. Brittany from Alabama Shakes sings also. It is so tough to look at. 920x920.jpg

Not so much his guitar face, but all that mooching around makes me want to kick his face in!

I am not that keen on guitar faces much either but if it helps them play better all well and good, nice playing and tone their btw.
