These photos are all I have and it seems to me that there are alnico speakers in this Super Reverb.
It's a silver face from the 70ies without a master. They want 1300$. What do you think?

The speaker date codes would help indicate whether these speakers are original, but early silverface Supers did indeed come with Jensen alnicos.

$1300 is low compared to current north american prices. Snap it up!

Looks to be a 1973/4 model---speakers are alnico magnets, looks 137-xxx=CTS or 465-xxx= Oxford, price seems pretty good, if all main components are original, mainly transformers, good luck, Ray.

Thanks guys for your expertise. I'll ask about the transformers and see if I can fetch it on the next weekend.

Looks like CTS alnico speakers. IMHO, the holy-grail speaker for that amp.

I just talked to the seller and settled the deal. He said it's from 1972 and everything is original except the tubes and he had owned it for 35 years.

Definitely an early '70s model: 1) Logo has lost its tail, and 2) no master volume.

And, with the voltage switch, definitely made for the non-U.S. market. Pretty cool.

Right I'll do so. First I got to get my car back from Joe's Garage and drive to the other side of the country to pick up that amp.

Looks like CTS Alnicos to me. Most desirable speaker for that amp. I don’t know EU prices, but $1300 USD for a real export model seems like a pretty good deal from my experience on the board. Over here, I would consider $800 to be a good price for a SFSR that didn’t need major service.

Where is it? Nordrhein-Westfalen? Rheinland-Pfalz? And how far a drive is the amp from Leipzig?

It' in Saarland - about 600 km from Leipzig. I'm looking at a 7h drive.

Those are the stock CTS Alnicos. The upper right one may be different...?
I may be out of touch, but for a while you could get a nice Super here in the US for $600 and up because no one wanted to carry one.

Wow! That's quite a haul! Can you just lug it on DB and reserve an extra seat on an IC or an ICE?! :)

Looking at the fotos I expect it to be a tad north of 'good'. Could it be a potential 'very good' with cleaning/cautiously touching it up? I'll see.

Looks like my 73 did when I got it, other than the export voltage selector. Definitely CTS alnicos.

Just a bit. Lived in Göttingen for a while. Look forward to seeing more of your amp! Gute Reise!
