See that Natural with black guard is what i wanted, but after a good sand its covered in dents and chunks missing. But that guitar with black pick guard does look sexy. What about a base coat of white then hit it with sander leaving some natural wood showing for that aged look (relic). had to sit down when i saw the price of a decent maple neck.

What color hasn't been done a million times? If you have the skills, try using a piece of tweed fabric in the same way that they use paisley paper.

like your thinking Mr. Johnson, that would look different or tweed pick guard. I got it, tweed flames. Now the beers talking.

With that body I would say an opaque finish is in order.

That being said SEAFOAM GREEN!!!!!!! or maybe even copper tone metallic if it will have a maple neck and black guard.

    Hey you said funky.

I had to google seafoam green. Looks nice, bit minty but gives it that old school touch. White pick guard and your sorted. good choice.

Watch the video if your haven't already seen it.

Man, without sounding dirty thats a nice piece of wood you've got there. Lovely grain. I'll give you that one old man. Black pick guard and i'd be a happy bunny.
