It’s probably that black Duo Jet. If one thinks only about tone and not playability (or lack of it), it would be that fireglo. There’s just something magical about 12 string Rics.

My Gibson ES-339. Ergonomically it's as comfortable as a telecaster and the 57+ bridge pickup twangs nicely.

This whole week it's been this wonderful, totally counterfeit Gibson J-160e.

I bought it used in a local pawn shop for $169 bucks.

I'll craft a NGD posting about it later, when I have more time.

For me it would be a LPJ type, preferably double cut w/P90, but I can deal with the traditional LP cut.

That thing's got bags of character. What is it? (Aside from an SG-alike)?

Regurgitating a pic from a previous thread. Don't tell the mods at TDPRI, but I don't actually own a Telecaster. I'm perhaps a little tele-curious though.

Meanwhile, for better or for worse, I think I'm just a Strat guy. I own a lot of guitars, many of them a much better piece of kit than this one, but this is the one that's always out. When I (used to) go to music stores and just noodle around, it doesn't matter where I start, but I almost always end up on a Stratocaster.

I don't really have a favorite, and just 4 electrics.
So I gig with just 1 of them for whatever electric gig I may play - it really doesn't matter, as the one picked is gonna cover a lot of variety; and I just enjoy the tone I'm gonna get out of it.

Same with my acoustic- It seems I play a lot of the same music/songs whether acoustic duo, or electric band

    - so my pick goes to the 1 guitar I don't EVER wanna live without, my '93 Martin D-1 'a thousand ' gigs!
