Mel's greatest influence on my own life would have to be the years of watching the Get Smart series as a kid, which he wrote for and initially created.

I lived in Denmark at the time and my fave Mel Brooks movie was called "Springtime For Hitler" over there but I think it was called The Producers in the English speaking world. It just pips Blazing Saddles in my view with Young Frankenstein third. Marty Feldman was a true comic genius.

I don’t think I’ve ever laughed as hard as the first time I saw the musical number ‘Springtime for Hitler’

Blazing Saddles has some great moments. Young Frankenstein is probably most consistently funny movie.

Blazing Saddles is my favorite, and I think it still holds up. It was deliberately meant to tweak the noses of the establishment of those days in general, and bigots especially.

Young Frankenstein is a close second for me.

'Young Frankenstein', then 'The Producers', then 'Spaceballs'. 'Blazing Saddles' didn't age well in my opinion.

Blazing Saddles and Young Frankenstein.

"We'll work up an old number 6 on 'em" and "Seda-give" still make me howl with laughter.
