I like hollow & semi-hollow guitars, so I'd say mine, which is a '69 Thinline Reissue (it's on layaway - it played great, and sounded SO GOOD through a Peavey 6505 half stack):

Next would be an Esquire - I like snotty, 1 pickup guitars

Lastly would be a Rosewood Telecaster - I had a chance in 1986, to buy one of the first run of re-issues. It played and sounded great, but in spite of being approved for financing it, I got cold feet, and backed out of the deal, due to my being a poor college student, who was barely making ends meet.

I don't own one, but I think my favorite is the '52 reissue.

Not crazy about the looks (I prefer the looks of a '60s type) but I love the way the '52 ri plays and sounds.

Not all '52 or '53 Teles are created equal. I know there are some good ones, but chances are the ones available to me would not be much more than a worn out guitar. I might be proud and privileged to have it, but it wouldn't be my favorite player. I think a favorite guitar is one you play.

I just like a home assembly T type with parts that were matched up from a large selection of bodies and necks, and finished thin but smooth to the touch.

They're all slightly different and my "favorite" keeps changing:

Another vote for "Mine". One Twangy-one Gritty. Next one I want is an Esquire..two tone burst with mint guard, baseball bat-sized maple neck. The trinity will be complete!

This is an unfair question, there's too many to choose from! Lol. I have a short-list though: My G.E.Smith signature Fender Tele, 50's vintage or vintage styled Fender American Tele's, and Crook custom Tele's. that's the best I could narrow it down before my brain exploded from thinking too hard! Lol

Just a regular Tele, 52 RI or 50's/60's classic is good enough. Don't care about the nitro thing, I would take either and be happy.

    1) '53 Telecaster (butterscotch blond[e]) (philips screws!)
    2) '61 Custom Telecaster (3t sunburst) (no patent#s!)

    also:

    early 50s Esquire (butterscotch blond[e])
late 60s Thinline (natural ash or mah., maybe a 3t burst)
'72 Telecaster Custom (3t burst or black)
'72 Thinline (nat. mah. or 3t burst)

Favourite I own? This copy of a 62. If money was no object it would be an original from the same era.

I use to go to a weekly blues jam in Annapolis, MD hosted by a great slide player named Dean Rosenthal. He played a Nocaster--far as I know it was the real deal--and that has always been the benchmark for me. BTW, somebody said butterscotch/blackguard is ugly. To each his own, I guess--I think a blackguard tele is about the best looking electric there is.

I like each of mine, for different reasons. But the leader of the pack is definitely the recent RI pink paisley, from Japan. Just does exactly what it should. AND looks cool.

    I like 60's, followed by 50's best.
