    Same here. After Fezzter's mods and the installation of a Callaham control panel (now I know what true quiet at idle is) it's perfect, or close enough.
    Not that I'd kick an Albert Collins or a CS Nocaster out of bed...

    Yeah, if you're talking about a real '52 Tele, then count me in, too. Or better still, a '53 (the year I was born).

    Now, if we're talking about current FMIC production models, I don't own one. But the one that caught my eye when it first came out and still catches my eye when I see it is the Deluxe Blackout Telecaster.

    My all time fave model has always been the double bound Tele Custom with a rosewood board. From a strictly aesthetic point of view I feel that the double binding and 3 ply guard helps dress up the sometimes too-plain look of your average Tele. Also, and I know I'm in a serious minority here, I've always found the ever popular butterscotch blackguard to be the most butt ugly of guitars.

    :::::ducking for cover:::::

    No offense to anyone, btw. Just sayin' is all...

    Oh yea, I am the proud owner of 2 CS Custom Teles -- Nocaster pu in the bridge, Twisted Tele pu in the neck-- and the best I've ever played. A 3 color sunburst and an ice blue metallic. Luverly!

    +1 for mine. Just a fender standard tele with a few slight tweeks. Cant beat them for the money.

    Just thought I'd add, IMHO the '72 Tele Custom is an amazingly sharp guitar. I never had much use for the neck humbucker unless I was in the middle position. But again, to me it's a very nicely dressed up version of your standard plain ol' Tele.

    Just to clarify, however, any plain ol' beats most other guitars any day of the week -- they're all just wunerful!

    The venerable john frusciante formerly of the red hot chili peppers. I recommend his solo work.

    Looks like John Frusciante w/ the Chili Peppers.

    Tuxedo Telecaster is my favorite.

    My favorite is the Old Growth Redwood Telecaster! Super light! Extremely resonate and sustain for days. Each of the 500 made look completely different with the redwood. The Hot Rod neck is nice and chunky. It growls and twangs. If I had to choose one it would be my redwood tele.
