I've never been really happy with a chorus pedal until I discovered the Detune setting on a Digitech whammy DT. I don't like to hear that flutter at most chorus pedals do. A close second is my Purple Boss Flanger set to a chorus setting.

What do you like and why?

I bought a Digitech Multi Chorus probably 15 - 20 years ago and I've never wanted or needed another. One of the best pedals I've had.

Or if I’m honest it’s the T60 from Demedash but that’s not a pure chorus pedal.

And if I’m in the confessional, the real answer is the best chorus is a good warbly delay like a T120 or even El Capistan.

I don’t like chorus as an effect. There’s a few songs with chorus that I like, but that’s more “I like the song in spite of the effect” than “I like that effect.”

I especially detest the use of it on acoustic guitars.

Having said that, when pressed by a co-guitarist to play a rhythm line with chorus, I acquiesced and set the Faux Leslie Cabinet setting on my Boss RT-20 Rotary Ensemble to slow…it gave a pleasant wobble that was close enough to chorus that he was happy.

I shouldn’t try to sound too knowledgeable. The only chorus pedal I’ve ever used is the DOD FX65. It’s my first pedal and I’ve never felt much of a need to try another. It is very picky about the distortion it gets paired with, notes can fart out, pretty hard. But when it’s right I’m pleased. I use it on Come As You Are and Plush .

Small Clone. Simple, sounds good.

Like it better than the CE-2, but I haven't tried a ton of others.
Me too, I like my small clone more than my Ce2, the ce2 does do that late 70svearly 80's country kind of sound good though. If you run a Boss style octave pedal after it it sounds pretty awesome too, but overall the EHX wins in every other category.

I cycle the sound at slowest setting, so dont worry about warble. My main complaint is too many pedals cycle too far into the "too bright" zone.
I liked the Visual Sound H20 version 1 and 2 a lot, but a big format. The smaller later pedal didnt seem as good

I have 2 Chorus pedals and both are set the same ( on different pedalboards),
for more of a fast Leslie/organy-tone. Pretty strong effect, but used sparingly. I don't use Chorus for anything else.

On main board ( just 4 pedals) it's the Boss CE-5 Chorus Ensemble ( can do much more than what I do with it )

And on budget fun board ( shown, all cheap pedals)
I have a Donner mini, multi-modulation pedal ( middle pedal in photo) that does 2 kinds of Chorus, Phaser, Tremolo, Vibrato etc., I use Chorus as described above, plus the Tremolo and Phase Shifter
- they all sound pretty good!

Moogerfooger Cluster Flux which is an all purpose analog BBD modulation pedal covering everything from flange, chorus, and vibrato. It has the programmability and flexibility of a digital modulation pedal, but is fully analog and sounds as lush as any of the classic flanger/chorus/vibrator pedals. Unfortunately, since Moog discontinued it the prices have skyrocketed and they regularly sell for over $1,000. I was very lucky to get mine at a reasonable used price (around $350) a couple of years before they were discontinued.

Boss ch1 for a long time. I still love it. But my favourite is the TC 3rd dimension. It’s a remake of an old boss pedal but it’s other little more variety. I have other choruses but those are my two favourites.

And don’t be put off by the buttons rather than knobs on the tc. Plenty of variety. No bad sounds.
