I like Wild Turkey.... when it comes down to $40 or under at the local bottle-o's...

it's got a cork to sniff..... screw caps never seem to have that nice aroma... and has that wonderful sonic Plonk!... when you extract it from the bottle... :)

I'm just fine with the standard Macallan Single Malt at 43% ABV, which in the USA translates to 86 proof.

Couldn't care less about alcohol content, taste is the factor

I'm not a cold climate guy, but yeah sipping is nice when it is cold out.

But I sip almost always. I just eventually did not like other stuff corrupting the taste of my bourbon, whiskey, tequila, or whatever.

For the record I really don't like added flavors in my beers either. Other than the hops, barley, or whatever grain it is made with.

Not gonna lie, can't stand the taste of alcohol (beer, wine, liquor, anything). Just never took to it. Being that I'm on dialysis and don't have kidneys, they told me to stay away from it anyway. Interestingly enough, when I was 17, my Nephrologist told me this: "Beer is full of phosphorus, so stay away from that. If you're gonna drink for the effect, take a couple of shots of higher proof liquor, it's less volume and less of the harmful stuff dialysis patients can't have." So, my teenage years were with just enough shots to have fun wherever I was staying maybe once a month. Been quite awhile since I've gotten a buzz, no time with a 17 month old little boy at home. The date nights are a rarity with my wife and I, but when we go out I'm always the DD.

I make my own, so 200 proof it is.

I've been on vacation this week and didn't have any plans. I've been drinking car bombs with Bridgestone Hop Czar IPA and Jameson's. After 2 my guitar playing improves in leaps and bounds. Don't have a clue what proof it would be.

90+ proof bourbon with some coke for me! (Depends on which KY. bourbon or TN. whisky I'm into at the time)

That's $40 for 700ml for those not familiar with the price of booze in Australia!

I bought a bottle of Beam in duty free recently leaving Aus and in a corner store in Hawaii it was cheaper.

I understand that some folks don't drink alcohol, for a variety of reasons, but that's not what this thread is about. Why do you feel the need to post that here?

WAAaaay back when I was drinking, by the time I was considering proof as a decision-leader, the only reason I was drinking by proof was to establish/maintain/regulate dosage. By then, it was a straight shot of Meyer's 151 chased with a shot of Coke (cold, but no ice), and repeat. And repeat. And repeat....

I don't believe that video and I hope it doesn't get someone killed trying to do it. I went to school with a guy that when he as less than twenty five years old downed a pint of 100 proof whiskey, he was dead before they could get him to a hospital. The guy weighed well over two hundred pounds and was about six feet tall. Left behind two small children and a widow.

When I was a young fool I once drank a large tea sized tumbler filled with vodka, in one turn of the glass. I don't recommend it.

Normally I prefer E&J brandy, sometimes 100 proof Southern Comfort. And on special occasions, Woodford Reserve.
