Squier is an 80s, made in Japan model.

Have a few other things but this is my main setup. I was just playing this right now, before posting, actually.

Which week?

For the past week I've been playing two guitars, mostly:

Martin D18GE, playing various fingerstyle gospel, rag, blues, and flatpicked bluegrassy stuff.

AVRI 62 Telecaster Custom (Surf), playing old school country, soul / gospel, rockabilly, and some Grateful Dead.

Pedals are miminal, mainly a JAM RetroVibe nearly always on, for some subtle movement. Boss CS3 occasionally. Slap delay for the rockabilly.

Amp is my Allen Encore build. Vibrolux Reverb style amp, 35W 6L6, with a single JBL D120F. Occasionally I'll stop the vibe and turn on the tube bias amp trem.

Last week I was still playing Jingle Bell Rock on the cherry 335, and coaxing good sounds from my pair of Tele builds. One's a Nashville with OC Duffs, and the other sports a pair of CuNiFe Wide Range pickups, and a fat rosewood neck.

Ibanez Artcore and a Champion 20.

Hankering for some real tubes, but I know it’s just GAS and I should be practicing. ;) The modeling on the Champion is pretty darn good, and the built in digital reverb is all I need/want.

My poor Tele gets no loving since the Ibanez moved in! 😂

Wow, I haven’t seen a DOD 555A in a long time. A former bandmate had one.
Oh yeah! I had one in the 80s and just sort of go for this sound now. I currently have two of em. This one I am running from a 9v power supply so it’s under powered, and I am really liking it like this. I just use it as a very low gain sound, sort of like if the amp was just barely starting to break up. Even with only 9 volts it does hat really well. It is a very bass heavy pedal though.

Into a homemade pedalboard, w/Exotic SP compressor > Musiclily Phase 45 clone > Wampler Belle OD > Xotic EP Booster for solos > Mooer Delay/Reverb, powered by a phone brick and a stepup USB cable. Runs for about 5-6 gigs on one charge.

May I ask what type of step up cable? I run these two 5V phone/whatever back ups Wired series for 10 V. I’ve also got this 12 V 9.5Ah with a couple 7809 VR’s, and I power my Wah with the two purple batteries in series, about 8.6 V. even in series it runs the Pedal ‘’forever’’, sometimes leaving it plugged in overnight. The purple ones were part of a salvage from someone’s stick vacuum. They broke the power supply so they threw it all away. I fixed the power supply, then salvaged the batteries, and a couple items before tossing out of the stinky under powered vacuum.

I tried a couple boost, boost buck circuits, but they whined. I didn’t figure DC to DC would making that much noise but some distortion circuits, all that cable… maybe brute force filter caps or probably just someone a little better with a scope.

Apparently I can't do a direct link, but search on Amazon for this. Remember it comes Center +, so you need to fix that. Also, it didn't like my Boss CE-2, hummed pretty good.

This is me at the moment, a Champ clone, set at 4-5, into the mic channel of an Acoustasonic 90. I had a Tweed Deluxe clone for almost a year, this champ was a loaner while the Deluxe had some work done. Long story short ... the Champ suits me perfectly and I now own it. That and I'm using the mic channel channel to play acoustic guitar into instead of singing.

Thanks for that I’ll check it out. I’m not sure which exact Boss Chorus that is, But I do remember some of the earlier ones, I might be messing this up-some could maybe run on 12 V also and there was a different power supply? You would get weaker results running the one that could run on 12 V off of nine, and I think it was an extra current limiting resistor… maybe it could run up at 9 V battery or the different PSA 12 adapter or something like that. I don’t know if that has anything to do with the increased whine though. I know it’s experience the same thing on some of my pedals, Some of them run fine and Some will have a whine/noise in the background.
DC to DC is quiet but when we introduce some of the other parts, stuff starts to not play nice with each other. Cool I’ll check that out

A bunch of Van Zandts (made in Japan by the PGM company who also does Moon and K.Nyui) into a HX Stomp XL. My blackguard-styled TLV-R1 is the main go-to. I have an old silver stripe bandit that I keep in a shared practice space when playing loud (stomp goes into the effects return) and I love my ATH M40x for playing silently at home.
