We are all familiar with the cliche of a Les Paul through a Marshall. It's iconic, and it's a good combo if you want a particular sound.

Just wondering what amp combo that's iconic for a telecaster? Like Tele through a champ, tele through a vox, tele through a ????? Just what you think is just a great combo with a telecaster.

a tele through a tweed deluxe, or a tweed bassman or a deluxe reverb, or a twin, or a vibrolux is pretty classic. I really like mine through My Dr. Z remedy (which is very plexi) too.

Jimmy Page did ok with a tele through a supro.

a tele through anything that is a delight, is a delight as far as I'm concerned.

a les paul through a twin worked out ok for Michael Bloomfield too.

Agree with some of the above. A '50s Tele into a tweed 5e3 (Deluxe).

Watch this - a perfect demonstration of the two in harmony.

tele into blackface twin for me. my neighbor owns an original 1964 TR and it likes any guitar but it's incredible with a telecaster. like they were made for each other, which they were.

If Les Paul + Marshall = iconic pair, I'm going to say Tele into a Fender. I think of James Burton, Don Rich, Luther Perkins, Dick Dale and less exclusively R&B.

It's interesting that almost all the les paul players I can think off have a marshall behind them, but tele players aren't so easily pigeon-holed.
If I had to pick one classic tele tone it'd be Steve Cropper and whichever fender amp he used on the Stax recordings.

68 Custom Deluxe works for me.

Using a Fryette attenuator makes it work for my wife.

    Another vote for Tele/Marshall.

Of course, I think it’s fun to have all different kinds of amps. But if I could only have one for the rest of my life, it would have to be a Marshall. And I wouldn’t even have to think about it.
