I'm wondering what everyones favorite amp is for a tele, and for what kind of tone. I've owned almost every Fender tube amp over the course of 35.years and I recently acquired an Excelsior amp from the Fender pawn shop series. It's the best amp I've ever had for rock tones with a tele. I bought it because it looked cool and figured I could use it for a cab. With the volume just past noon and my teles bridge pickup cranked it's perfect for raunchy hard rock. With my Timmy used as an e.q. and some moderate gain it's an absolute beast.

I have a Fender Mustang I V2, with all the Amp Models it has, the Tele is right at home with them all.

The one's I like most for Rock are the Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier, similarly the HiWatt DR103. 7:42 mark. Cleans to driven. Sounds glorious. 16:52 is a Tele as well.

I don't have any particular "favorite" or specific amp for a Tele. For a long time I've used a JC-120... clean, clear tone. Recently, I've used Katana and GTX modeling amps too. They work fine for me as well.

There is no such thing as a best amp any more than there is a best song or best player. In fact, sometimes the best sounding amps aren't amps at all, but rather simulator pedals.Your gold may be another man's rust. There are plenty of amps commonly used with Telecasters, though, such as DR's, Princeton, Blues Jr., AC15/30, JC 120, JCM 800, but none of them are the single "best" for everyone, anymore than flat wound strings or boutique pickups.
