Funny this thread should come up about the same time I pulled this record out to test out my new LP cleaning products. I wanted to try them out on something I wasn't worried about damaging. I bought it back in the 80's when I was teaching guitar. Many of my students were middle school/high school boys and they ALL wanted to learn to play like Eddie so I got myself a copy because the customer is always right!

I used to buy stacks of unwanted records for $1. Somewhere I have a vinyl LP of someone reciting the times tables. I used to stick short snippets into party tapes in college. The 8's seemed to be particularly popular.

I had never seen the "Greatest Hits" collection! You're probably aware that Mr. & Mrs. Edwards are played by Jo Stafford and her husband, Paul Weston. As I recall, they entertained guests by playing wonderfully badly, which was especially funny, since they were both extremely talented musical artists. People liked it, so they made a record.

The album cover I remember, and that has always made me laugh, is this one. I admit, the first time I saw it, I didn't notice anything unusual:

That's Vol. 1. There's also a Vol. 2. The original albums weren't available on CD or as reissues.

Stafford and Weston claimed that Jonathan and Darlene were house guests of theirs who wouldn't go away.

There are several albums. In addition to the first album there was also "Jonathan and Darlene in Paris", and one with a male chorus that sounded like "Sing Along With Mitch" type stuff. And there were the disco songs:

I have some crazy stuff on cd, my sisters like to give me incongruous things.
There’s a bieber disc that I’ve never opened...
    Other treasures:
I have disk called “Kiss my a**” with kiss covers
    An Elvis album of spirituals/hymns
The Yo YoMa Goat Rodeo albums
The soundtrack from The Coneheads. (It has under the bridge,RHCP on it)
I’ve got 20 or 30 ‘friend band’ discs too...

Sadly, nothing cool at all. It would be one of these two.

I have a Julio Iglesias album that I can't explain. I didn't buy it, I've never heard it, and I've never known anyone that was a fan, but there it is. Weird.

There's nothing in my record collection that's out of place for me... but the one that gets asked about the most is this little Prog Rock gem from mid '70s Quebec.
