I think dads are a lot more involved in family life now as nurturers, not just as disciplinarians and repairmen, and as an unhandy and softhearted dad, I'm glad for that.

Did the account on which it is drawn exist in 1959, and did it have enough money in it?

Don't you think gathering a stack of $10 bills from 1958 would be a lot easier than inventing a time machine?

I mean, if we're making assumptions as silly as a time machine being used to buy a guitar, I figure the print date of cash is in play.

Leave the time machine running, grab the guitar and make for the front door! When you pop out in 2020, the statute of limitations will have expired.

I used to hitchhike a lot and I saw so many by the side of the road with a few feet of tape hanging out.
It seems like it was always Yes, Fragile or Meatloaf, Bat Out of Hell.

Most things were pretty bad, or better for some due to an intentional inbalancaling. So not that much different from today. But there was Calvin and Hobbes which still seems to have a leg up on most current funny page comics.

I'll definitely go with cars. As much as I lust after some cool-looking 70s and 80s cars, it's all kid nostalgia. Time has proved them to be underpowered and unreliable. I think it's been proven than a plain jane v6 Camry off the showroom floor smokes any of them.

When I was a little microbe I used to pester my mother relentlessly for these things. And to get really crazy I'd wash it down with a fresh glass of Tang. An hour or so later -- not so good.
