Loving this 1.125" x 6.5" blank of roasted curly hard maple I just got it for a couple necks from currlymaplewood.com from over in Ohio. They never dissappoint!

I will resaw .25 off to install a head adjust truss rod before gluing it back on for matching fretboard.

I'll have to check them out. I'm looking for something special for the white tele I'm doing.

Well the old tele body has been drying over a week now after stripping it back and respraying three times. Wet sanded it a polished. It's all it's going to get damn thing. Still good experience, so much so I've ordered a spray gun for my little compressor. Let's see how much damage I can cause with that  Time to put this baby together :)

THIS has been on my work bench all day today.
DSC02759.JPG

Finished the body in Linseed oil, the bottle can be seen standing to the left of the guitar. This picture doesn't do the striping pattern of the top justice, as it has a tight tiger stripe going on. I also need to re-drill the bridge as it's slightly offset.

I have no idea what kind of wood this is but it smells nice and looks really good. Yeah I admit it, the control cavity isn't the neatest job but you do what you have to do with a limited set of tools. Once I finish the back plate it will be covered up anyway.

So how does it play and sound?
- Very much like a Les Paul, surprisingly enough, seeing as how the neck has a Fender Scale length and is bolt on. But yeah, strapping it on feels just like strapping a Les Paul on, that typical balance is very much the same.

That came out nice! I think you wrote earlier that you got gifted the body right? I don't know how old it was and how much sanding you did, but could it be aged padouk? I have used the same linseed oil, did you thin it before applying?

i see you are from holland.
my problems with linseed is that it stayed to sticky and i moved over to Rustin Danish oil.
it has some wax in it so you can rub it out and no stickiness.
they even have some stains to use with it.
but nice build!

Today, its parts of my table saw. Went to install the dado yesterday for a garden project, and realized I couldn't even turn the shaft without the blade locked down. I had a bearing replaced on the motor shaft a month ago (same problem), its been working since then albeit with a bit of a growling noise.

I think I may have gotten my $225 out of it in the dozen or so years I've been abusing it, time to look for a replacement.

I'm space limited, so I'd like a bench top table saw that I can mount into the end of my rolling workbench (like the current one is). The saw table is flush with the bench top so that I can use it to support outfeed.

I'm looking at this Grizzly, does anyone have experience with one like this?

Finished :) Well happy with it. Frets lovely and level, no buzz, no second or third fret level needed like all my previous attempts  Sets up beautifully, 4/64ths across the board at the 17th fret. Intonates with room to spare. I've got to make sure my other builds don't see me writing this but I consider this one my first proper guitar build. The lessons and experience learn't from all the others was invaluable though. Back to the other one I've got on the go now. I was making a body for a neck I'd made but can't get the truss rod to move so I'll use it as practice in 'how to remove a fretboard', at least I can use the truss rod if it's working. So a new neck to go with the body which was to go with the old neck :lol::lol:
