It was just getting worse, maybe not being fully cured didn't help so, I've sanded it all off and am now re-spraying, only a couple of coats then let it dry then a couple more etc. I'll get on with the next build mean time. I've got two early builds that could do with new necks and bodies :lol::lol:

I'll keep them posted.

Blackbursted the edges, top, and back today, with a few more clearcoats.
This is 90% hollow and weighs about a pound.

It has a neckblock, tailblock, and a bridgeblock to support a TOM and tailpiece, which you can see through the rear cavity shot.
It has a central connecting 'beam' that connects those three, which you can see through the bridge pickup cavity too.

My first and last attempt at pinstriping. Damn, it’s difficult. I’ll leave artistry to the artists and stick with craft work.

somehow i don't like the white pick guard.
the fine lining and than that big chunck of white does not doe the lining credit.
maybe use a black one would boost the lining even more.
but that is my personal opinion ;-)

"On my bench" was a day of working on cleaning out the upstairs of the "old" shop...it was kinda sad as I am disposing of quite a few years worth of "shorts" and related that I doing generally throw out. 'Never know when a small piece of something will help with a project. But I don't have the space in my storage locker to handle that kind of stuff and there's certainly no room in the "temporary" shop for much of that either. So a few sticks of exotic or highly figured stuff do get to move and the rest is heading to the recycling center. While this is a holiday weekend, the weather being extremely cool made this the perfect couple of days to do this work as the upstairs of that building is unconditioned and gets like a sauna on a warm or hot day. Most of the stuff left up there is either moving to storage, to the new house (additional music equipment in that category) or moving to a donation center in the next couple of days.

That worked out better than I expected, no gaps :) Not sure where I'm going with it yet, the black just for the grain I'll probably sand the rest off but then again. It'll have a couple of humbuckers in it from another build, I'm just changing the body and neck :lol::lol:

...and done. It needs another black knob; only had one in the spare parts bin. Plays well, sounds great. Has a bit of neck dive, but I'm really happy with it overall. I built it with the idea of it being a dedicated Open G guitar, but my wife is already asking how much I can sell it for!

I posted before of the Music Man style Cabronita I'm building, and I went by my friends' house that gave me the wood. It's from the 1790s. He borrowed one of my Strelecasters and loved it and wanted to build one for him and one for his brother because the wood came from their family's old homestead in NH. Snapped a couple pics. He's going to leave most of the dark color that he can, the only lighter colored would will be where routing has taken place.
