A nice new White Christmas tele. It’s beefier than my other teles, given the humbucker. The bridge pickup actually plays really nicely with it (even on a 500k system), being slightly overwound.

Rockler was running a sale on short boards, so I scarfed some pretty nice figured maple. Alas, one board is destined for a blacktop, but it was cheaper than the plain maple boards they had. :D Part of the other will get resawn and bookmatched for a thinline Tele.

    Been pretty busy lately :)
Finished this complete build. Took a long time to get the pups shipped during Covid to SA. At least I received them!! Many people currently don't receive packages from overseas

My benchtop actually has to move to day as part of cleaning and rearranging prior to spraying six large objects for a friend that he needs to complete a project before the holidays. I'm going to have to hang them for spraying so it's going to be, um....fun.

A long time ago (maybe the Cretaceous) I built my twins bunk beds. Looking for something else as always I came across a leftover and two end boards

    received_735015160786677.jpeg

11 1/4" wide and 3/4" thick and this leftover the shortest of the bunch at 16". Hmmmmmm

Looks like the makings for a slightly offset telecaster :)

Well the two end pieces are a skosh over 18inches, so what to build? This is the wildest piece and would probably be the front

    received_214343423609001.jpeg

Now that HUGE knot you'd have to avoid (if possible) or feature, yeh my first thought

Now candidates, the only thing I've wanted longer than the Guild I'm already building is this

    received_2213166418992586.jpeg
Sigh, the first GOOD electric I ever played (yes you heard me, guys dad was an engineer and loved fixing problems) and the trem I'm putting on my Guild is a direct copy. But alas, not wide enough so what's next?

    An exercise in learning CNC

    received_117716976256145.jpeg

I really like it and even have genuine maple veneer for the sides :)

    Now last

    received_444150142915996.jpeg

The obvious thing is it highlights the big knot without touching it. I never cared for all the slanty shizzle but then again I really like John but I'm not him ;)

    I'll sleep on it :)

Man does not live by bread and Telecasters alone. No, occasionally the work bench winds up occupied by other things, like a new portable antenna for the 6 meter ham band.

You are a good candidate for cncing. I'd download one of the free 3d programs and start to learn how to draw. Let the machine do the hard bull work once in a while.

Off the bench, on the recycle barrel for some pics :D P/P 5902's and a couple 6112's for the preamp and PI, TMB tonestack. Soldering to those teeny tiny sockets was definitely a challenge!

Nice! There’s nothing quite a beautiful as a loaded turret board.

I have been researching making my own wooden bench, and I don't know if I have that much spare time in my schedule to see it through. That is a beautiful bench, slick3772, I am quite green with envy.
