Got a couple ‘59’s in Swamp Ash underway...
Mescalero Red Tiger made substantial progress yesterday. Fretboard leveled, frets installed. Bridge and tailpiece located, drilled & mounted. A bunch of sanding and neck carving today. Maybe by the end of the day I’ll smear a bunch of hot hide glue in the neck pocket and make a unit out of this thing.
Built a guitar a couple years ago, and made the bridge out of aluminum. Decided to make one out of steel, think the tone will be better~
drilled, ready for paint then mounting
Got my nephew’s guitar put together.
Leftover Zane Guitar bodies, necks & parts, my parents picked up on their October trip south to Wisconsin.
All the guitars you've built with this wood have been stunning.
Would love to have a nice redwood guitar like that.
This Gibson DC get a new pickguard and Boostrap neck pickup added. Got to drill out a hole for the new body mounted input jack. And add a three way switch. Should be fun.
Iced in this morning, so I mounted the bridge I made yesterday. Big change in tone, but the E & B strings are much louder and brighter. I'll message with set up and possibly saddle material.
Thank you so much for your nice words!
Last toy picture I promise
Finally finished all the pieces from the fleet
Looks great, where in norcal are you. Anywhere near Santa Rosa ?
Finally off the workbench!
Made the body and pickguard
Dimarzio super distortion T in the bridge, Alnico V humbucker (fleor) in neck, both coil split
Fender modern player neck
Thanks!! I am fairly close to Santa Rosa. I live in Upper Lake.
Cool!!! I was walking by a guitar shop in Petaluma CA called Tall Toad and saw these in the window the other day...
I hope the recipient of said toys is grateful and respectful of your work and gift. Friend of mine made wooden toys for his grandson and the little...."guy" threw a fit because it wasn't the store bought gift he wanted.
His mother still thinks of the toys as hers .She is very protective of anything I made.He actually spotted 3 of the pieces on top of a cabinet a couple weeks ago . Everyday he wanted to be lifted up so he could check for more
