This is absolutely in-line with my philosophy...the wood will speak to us and tell us what it wants to be in its next life at our hands. :) :D If you've ever read Nakashima's "Soul of a Tree", you'll get the connection there, too.

Mahogany top glued and shaped to body. Waiting on bridge assembly so I can size the neck and shape the cutaways.

Sanding....lots of sanding...but that Z-Poxy treated surface is now level, smooth, filled and ready for clear coating...

I finally got the hardest part of my Refractor build done: the control cavity. I don't want any controls visible from the front, so I came up with a clever way of hiding them while hopefully still making them easily accessible:

If you don't remember what the build looks like, here's a refresher:

I think #2 is the winner. But I'd be happy with any of those, so what you have there is what we call a "good problem"

Moved this one along today with the EM1000 sanding sealer, initially clear, but last coats with a lot of honey amber added to brighten up the sapele.

Also got the base layer on for re-finishing this top from Tele 2 that got damaged (insert tears here...) so I can re-do the nice burst.
