It's getting better all the time.......
This is absolutely in-line with my philosophy...the wood will speak to us and tell us what it wants to be in its next life at our hands. If you've ever read Nakashima's "Soul of a Tree", you'll get the connection there, too.
Mahogany top glued and shaped to body. Waiting on bridge assembly so I can size the neck and shape the cutaways.

Sanding....lots of sanding...but that Z-Poxy treated surface is now level, smooth, filled and ready for clear coating...

I finally got the hardest part of my Refractor build done: the control cavity. I don't want any controls visible from the front, so I came up with a clever way of hiding them while hopefully still making them easily accessible:

I think #2 is the winner. But I'd be happy with any of those, so what you have there is what we call a "good problem"
Moved this one along today with the EM1000 sanding sealer, initially clear, but last coats with a lot of honey amber added to brighten up the sapele.
Also got the base layer on for re-finishing this top from Tele 2 that got damaged (insert tears here...) so I can re-do the nice burst.
