Well, not so much on the workbench as just left the workbench!

A scratch build B&G inspired semi hollow. Tasmanian Sassafrass body with Tas Eucalypt top, Tasmanian Blackwood neck. 25" Scale length.

Looks great! Too bad you have to put pickups in as I love the look through the pockets.

Do you put binding along the sides of the top cap or just leave it as is?

This body is just getting roundovers on top and back and then a tummy cut and the front gets carved on the upper bout like this. FB_IMG_1532390342569.jpg

The body is routed out semi hollow similar to the picture below, just slightly modified tk allow for the top carve.

since I used up my last plank of Dfir.... my next guitars might have to come from my workbench..:)

a 305x40x4100 plank of Jelutong, a se asian rainforest tree,,,it's stiff and light, I can carry that plank like a surfboard easily and stand on it without it bowing much.... it's already made 2 guitars... it's fairly plain without much grain, not real hard...

The mustang went to a school kid who rips and he's been playing shows for the last few years with it,,, the silver looks better than I expected under stage lights and sounds great with the cheap hb's....

Well not with the last 2 day worth of humidity. It was going to be close by since the washing machine on the 3rd floor decided to drain into the basement I'm not going to make that deadline.

A small note to any one who is wondering: the Rustoleum lacquer, can be topped with the Belhen's / Mohawk string instrument lacquer.

My work on this black walnut natural edge dining table top is now done...100" long, average 40" wide and 2" thick. Slight radius on the ends to soften things up. I do need to get the design for the steel base to a welder, but the client is handing the finishing. I'm happy with that because with this out of my shop, I can go back to playing with my new guitar design. :)
