    Nice Neck Bugeater!

here's my day's achievement, a group shot of some Pickup rings and Control Plates
and yes these are all pretty rough. and the switch slot is too wide.. yeah yeah,, heh
Too lazy to change the bit while making sure the little CNC would play nice with the wood.
Did fine, so now, i get to make some more and do the slots.
you guys like the slanted switch slots? or Not so much?

I've had my Jagstang for like 20 years, and I will always have it... I freakin love it. Such a great guitar.

Every now and then I put on ads that "I'm buying cheap projects" and now I got a couple of real oddballs. Someone has made them from scratch and I really can not determine, if they actually should work ok. Only way to verify, is to finish them and fix problems, if any should appear.. Here's a few photos of the first one. This (maybe) has been used some, even though it's not really finished.

More like what's on, around, under, nearby...
The beginning of the great purge or as they say in Sweden "döstädning". (Death cleaning) Too much stuff (crap) that I don't use and don't need.
So it's time to reduce and recycle.

This is a longterm endeavor but I needed to start. I've got 2 builds I would like to work on but first I had to start this or I am not sure I ever would. The funny thing is even after cleaning out my tool chest I still have to many screwdrivers, drill bits, pliers, wrenches, etc.. There will definitely need to be a second pass through. And on top of that I really need to reduce the guitar and amp inventory. At least that will bring in a little money. There will probably be some spare guitar parts that will be going. I will post them here whenever they come up and they will be free for the asking.

While.working on the cleanup I ran across this.

    20190412_131340.jpg
First neck I ever built. Finished with Behlens Starcast amber. Just a touch to orange. So. Break out the lacquer thinner.

    20190412_134408.jpg
The orange stripe is where the decal was. Need to run to the hardware store for more thinner.

A friend of mine gave me this funky old Kay. Body is a thin piece of what looks like mahagony under what looks like cheap black spray paint... Neck is thin laminant. Les Trem missing the spring. I have one of the bowtie pickups for it. Y'all have any ideas what I should do with it? Probably going to start by trying to get the paint off. Pick guard is painted red, and possibly too warped to reuse.[IMG]

Well it's def not mahagony. Must have been stained orangy red originally. Looks like pine. You'd think I could tell from the weight but it's thin so shrug.[IMG]

Those may have been made by Teisco and I'm wondering if it is mahogany plywood. It kind of looks like laminations. That's not pine.

Yep that looks right. Pickups are correct. I don't really know where to go from here. Needs a bridge, maybe put a gfs roller setup and keep the Les Trem, put a nicer laminent on top and make it a burst again? Need a second pickup, I don't think I have anything that would fit except an old squier strat bridge pup that would need an adapter plate.

So which do you guys prefer?
Mahogany / Ebony / Mother of Pearl / Rosewood
or Birdseye / Birdseye / Abalone / Birdseye

Body is Western Red Cedar on top of Mahogany..
