51 miles... that’s a vacation trip for Germans - needs a careful planning, at least 3 breaks if not a hotel night!!!

Kinda like this? Used guitar picks for the scales.

This is one of my favorite threads here. Easy to see what everyones been up to. I haven't been around in a while, I got a lot of reading to do to catch back up to whats going on.

I'm moving this thing off my bench finally !!
Just in time for hunting season....
Again, it's a .32 caliber, plain maple stock, poured pewter nosecap, some homemade furniture, ferric nitrate stain, sealer, rubbing varnish topcoats, some light relic-ing, and finished off with BriWax.

Below is just a reminder of where it started, way back in March or April, I forget....
Thanks for bearing with me through the build.
I'll try to get some video of breaking it in at the range.

    That's a beautiful thing, Roger !
Keeping the look of the old floor joints was masterful.
    Well done.

Workmanship looks questionable, send to me for proper testing, it will only take me a lifetime to make sure it is safe.;).PM immediately for shipping address.

Proper tuners and bridge on an old Univox. The original bridge was out of intonatable room and the tuners were trash. The stock pickups in these are truly outstanding. I would kill for a modern equivalent. 68A763AF-A357-4E4F-B906-42B532396618.jpeg ADCB2797-282F-4CD6-BD4C-16AD1B9FD584.jpeg DE9F046A-8BC3-4DB0-9E98-C0CB3ECAC31E.jpeg

Got the inlay in. It's not the most accurate, but considering it is my first try I am happy enough with the result. Filling with wood glue and wood dust was not the best idea, since it darkened the wood dust way too much, so next time I'm gonna try super glue instead.

Also, since an electric guitar without an amp seems pointless, I rigged up a small LM386 based amp with a J201 input buffer, since the guitar will have a passive piezo. Found a speaker in the trash a while ago that might just work for this. The setup sounds good enough with a regular strat. So I will also need to build the cab for this thing :).

Ahhh... I’ve always loved your “Harley tank” paint jobs but never noticed they were picks! Awesome!
