    2nd build(pics of 1st build as well)

    Newbie here

This is what I am looking at for my main slide guitar.Should be done in a day or two I am hoping.

It was a parts build, build to spec obviously,my second build .

I got the itch about 4 months ago and started a scratch build that I am afraid to finish up and put the strings on.

The hardware is all on at this point(the pic is two months old)and the bridge is the only thing left to do.The wood was quite nice to work with as a first timer.i used basswood on the wings and maple for the thru-neck.

    I shall indeed Daz :D

I could probably start it off in the next day or so since I've done a few steps towards getting ready for it like laminated a neck, joined wedges for top and back, made an initial temple with which I created the mould plus other stuff that eludes me at the moment.

If you haven't already watched the YouTube video by Bert van der Meij where he builds 2 L5 CESs might be worth your 15 minutes. Can't wait to see what you do.

Today I'm experimenting again with titanium neck reinforcement rods. Was pleased with how the Ti worked in the neck of my challenge build, so gonna see what happens when I cut them at a 17 degree angle and bring them up into the headstock on this project.

wish I could be working on such elegant stuff - for me, labor day was all that and a bag a chips - floor sander, circular saw and such - refinishing the deck in the back and replacing the stairs. And yep, it's hot in Texas.

Warm up build in Istanbul... Everything salvaged and reclaimed! (except the PU)

Pine body, 15 years in the workshop (taken over from the landlord)
African walnut neck, (almost ruined back then by a wannabe apprentice)
Red ironwood fretboard (was twisted but apparently got his ****** together)
Some leftover mahogany stripes (just because)
Walnut bordeaux stain and some gold filling
    Reclaimed frets from another neck
Old truss rod from a neck gone bad
A bridge of mine with some paint mistakes (a B-side bridge)
A Häussel Tronebucker (oh boy, that's one PU!)
Electronics etc. taken from the parts bin

What's the thing with the aluminum rails sitting on your workbench. And that laminated plywood thing?

Recycling frets is deserving of praise.

Gee, Mete, don't you think you are a little underdressed for such a fancy workshop? :D
