The wood I used is laminated meranti. That's just coincidence because it was part of a lot of wood I bought on an auction. You could use mahogany, maple or whatever you can get your hands on as long as it's not to soft.

Just curious - post some pics when you're ready

That should be a great companion for you and the family. Both the breeds are gentle and smart, so the mixture should be great.

Now that the craft stick challenge guitar is done I'm back to getting my other projects under way. I have been asked to build a Jazz bass body for a fellow guitar show vendor's neck he acquired and I need to make a prototype of one. I never built a Jazz body before, so we are into new territory. I spent a while yesterday putting together the machine code for the body and today I will cnc it. I'll post a pic if it is reasonable looking. One drawback is that the body it wider than 13, so I'll have to thickness sand it instead of planing it with the planer.

And a couple hours later....I hope it is the right size...seems large to me.

Here's my newest 'barncaster', I couldn't wait to finish it before I played it.

I wanted something different, so forgive me

I'm building a table similar to this... for the oldest boy who is heading off to university in the fall.

I'll get some pictures of the one I'm building one of these days when it takes on a shape. Right now its a lot of cut boards and sawdust. Everything is milled and cut to size... I just have to start putting it together.
