    the A&L acoustic is a kinda satin black finish.... :)

    Thank you Metecem. I'm flattered you like it. My apprehension almost led me to not building it. But to my disbelief I have revived many praises for the design. Thank you again for the nice words.

    More like hanging near my workbench a Tru-oil refinish on a LP Junior Special. Just one coat on so far and I'm hoping the top and back darken up somewhat to make the crud grain less noticeable.

    You're more than welcome. This is the first design so far I'd consider building one day from a fellow guitar builder.

    Hey hey. Stop robbing Mark's design!



    On account of me being the first one to express a desire to rob it. Mark, I respectfully ask to be at the front of the queue for a PDF of the outline, if you decide to share. And being British, I love to queue. Politely. If any of you push in front of me, I won't say anything to you, but I will give you some very dirty looks and make a range of passive-aggressive comments under my breath.

    Me too. I see lots of other peoples designs that I like. But this is the first one I've wanted to make for myself.

    Grrr.. Don't ask....:cry:

    but seeing as you all might find mild amusement.. I'll continue....:lol:

    I decided to strip down my latest red tele to sand out the pick scratches the band kid put on..... spray a coat of clear back on....a simple enough task you might say..... :rolleyes:

    found a spot in the sun on a cool morning with a foam pad on the bench corner to start a bit of sanding....

    sanded off the front scratches.... they were deep.... then decided to wet sand/block the whole body over and do a fresh finish all over....

    pulled it up on edge toward me to sand them.... and the body slipped straight down bounced off my knee, hit a brush cutter or two then hit the concrete,,,, as I looked on in HORROR...:eek: arrrggghhhh.....

    I should have went to the markets,,,, and not did this.... arrrgghhh..

    the foam pad had slipped forward off the bench toward me when I did the top.... as the body weight came over to the edge... .. it trap doored,,,,slipped straight through my fingers.. dohhhh.....:eek:

    Two big edge chips, chipped the clear off... one near the back strap pin and one on the lower horn.. about an inch long each.....:cry:

    So... I spent the day trying to fix the carnage,,,,,:lol:.... and another day after I sand this lot down and fill some more....

    I should have left "well enough" ALONE!..... I couldn't bear to even take pics of the dings....:cry:

    pour me a Bourbon...two fingers.. one for each ding...:lol:

    yes yes yes... it has crossed my mind... after the fact..... as it does....... sigh...:rolleyes:

    the kid's name is Leo..... poetic justice from above....:cool:

    I've got a mind to just give him the guitar...here you little ^&**^^%.... finish the job .... make sure you ENTERTAIN!...mmmkkk.... it's just stained wood I got from the scrapyard that I put countless hours into...

    I appreciate you don't see "a guitar" that way (now).....
    well.. good for you, Leo.... :lol:...you get to carry the flame of Oz rock into the future...... I know you'll have your own band one day (his dad is lead singer/guitarist in a touring oz rock band).... I know this won't be the last guitar you put your mark on....:twisted:

    I know that you don't know that I'm pouring my angst out on an international music forum atm....:lol:

    though, be sure.. young Leo... I'm going to remind you every time I see you over the coming years/decades..... if we meet in a bar when you're old enough.. and I'm still alive... you owe me a bourbon kiddo... top shelf too...;)
