The finish still has a ways to go, but she is starting to shape up nicely.
Been working on building a Slide from a small, scuzzy, piece of 3/4" Schedule 40 Stainless Steel Pipe.
I left one side looking like I found it, polished-up the other.
I ground-off part of one end for knuckle-comfort and left the Seam of the Pipe intact. The Seam makes it a lot easier to control.
Wondered why I hadn't seen more of these made from Stainless.
Now I know, its a pain to work with!
Just started a Thinline from Ron Kirn's templates. Larch with mahogany top, pictures coming soon
Yep, that is nice!
Just about finished with this one. Mahogany, Lollar Imperials, RS Guitarworks pots, Warmoth neck
Very nice, what varnish did you use?
It's just Sherwin LOVOC lacquer. In a month I'll blow the guitar apart for a cut and buff
Fantastic Tom...you putting a humbucker in it?
No, its getting one of Lollars Horseshoe reproductions. I was lucky enough to score two of them before Rickenbacker threw a hissy fit and brought in the lawyers over a 1930's design that the patent ran out on years ago.
cool...too bad Lollar caved.
Refurbishing a '65 Guild Starfire lll.. Repainted the back of the neck today..
Cool stuff guys!
Rich and Dave--you both have been too scarce here lately, glad to see ya's.
Hope you're doing good Dave!
Just finished setting up my first Tele.
D adario 11-49 nice strings! First time I've tried em.
Can't wait to see it finish.
Yeah.. Lots of stuff happening here lately. I'm still checking in when I can, though. I miss you guys, too.
A wee bit late, but this is what became of those blades:
Larch thinline body.
