Neck is bolted on
Tailpiece & neck pickup are from a destroyed vintage silvertone. (Gibson p13 pickup).
Bridge pickup is a 90s gibson p90.
Trying to decide on a cover…. I’m thinking either cream or order a nickel one.

The semi-hollow tele I'm starting will have a QLD maple top with a body of Tassie Blackwood and Brazilian Bloodwood. What are you thinking for the top?

I don't want to cover up fancy wood with that mighty thinline pickguard so going for a plain top and solid colour, probably sonic blue.

Like a nice refined f-hole, and routed underside for thickness:

Nice. I have a piece of the most insanely quilted merbau I've ever seen that I'm planning to use for the pick guard. I haven't decided on an F hole yet.

Just finished up the other day.
Figured walnut, curly maple neck with rosewood fretboard. Glow markers, logo inlay is gunmetal pearl powder mixed with glow powder and CA soaked.

Clear nitro with flattening agent. Turned out subtle sexy.

Did some work on my mini strat.

DSC02973.JPG

I routed out the cavities for the controls and for the bridge pickup, but now I'm debating on whether I should add a neck pickup too.

Alternatively, I could also have that said humbucker in a frame. Although I'm leaning towards the first option, since it looks cleaner.

It'll get a solid color, there are too much worm holes and other damages in the wood. I'm probably going to paint it burgundy.

Tried late last night while everyone was asleep. Turned channel Vol up, Master Vol down. Seems to work great.

Try out more today.

This guitar has undergone a few variations at this point.

First iteration:

Where it's at now :D

This was one of the very first builds I started, and it represented a lot of firsts for me:
- first multi piece neck
- first set neck
- first inlay
- first thinline construction
- first string-thru body

It's remained a test bed for me and is the guitar I always mess with if I want a change. I've got a gig coming up in May, and I thought this livery would suit the guitar much better .

Starting work on a new Tele body. This is cherry from a tree cut down on the family farm about 50 years ago. Has lots of worm holes and other character. My father did the layout, glue up, and rough cut to get to this roughly Tele shaped piece you see here.

Looks great!
I have made a couple out of cherry and they have always sounded great!
