When the Mavericks came out to Australia and played a show in Townsville he and Raul were plugged straight into a pair of bf twin reissues. In a way it's cool there's nothing about this on the web it's just about the music, but the fanboy in me needs to know.

Shameless bumping, I can't let this die yet. Should I put this on the stomp box chat thing?

It's not a live chat, it's a threaded discussion board. You might have to wait more than a few hours to get a response. No need to bump anything; people will see your post and respond if they have anything to contribute.

Thanks for your patience and cooperation.

Patience Tronc, you're not the only Mavericks Fan around here. I know that in the States Eddie and Raul both use Visual Sound amps. I'll research deeper and see what I can find.

Here's a link to an earlier discussion about Eddie. Seems the consensus is that, like you have observed yourself, he pretty much plugs straight in to some great amps. It seems that Dwight don't mind a loud electric guitar on stage. :)

That's Vintage Sound amps. He and Raul both use them. That's what I get for typing while my wife talks. My wife(the talker) has a Mavericks concert recorded and all I saw what looked like a tuner and two other boxes. No close-ups.

I'm waiting to be accepted onto the "Eddie Perez is a gun guitarist" Facebook page.hopefully someone there might have a mother load of information. I'm going to start assuming now though...some sorta compressor and a delay? Not always on. Anyone else want to have a game of speculation?

Yep it's not really a help as to what he's got, yet it does clear up that he's packing pedals down there.

I just saw the Mavericks, and snuck up to the stage at the end, Eddie and Rual had pedal boards about the size of a pedal train junior. It was pretty dark, and a bad viewing angle, but on Eddie's board I recognized Tc polytune and what was most likely a MXR phase 90 (though I never heard it used that night) and approx 4 or 5 other pedals but couldn't tell what they were. I was surprised by the number of pedals, as mostly he sounds like he's playing straight thru. There was one solo early in the night when he was playing the jaguar (?) in Tronc's photo and the tone was quite shrill and sounded like a pedal. Just one song, can't remember which.

..btw I typed most of this before I saw Tronc's photo, I am confident that is the same board, I saw it from the other side, a little closer up, but dark. Left my phone at home, borrowed my wife's. If the pic turned out, I'll post it when she gets home.

The show was amazing, I am so happy they are back! Given the size of the band, I felt the guitars were minimized, and appropriately. There is so much going on with keys, horns and a full time accordion and monster vocals, especially the vox between Eddie and Rual.

Eddie's board first, Rual's in the background.

I think that the bottom far left looks like an old Wampler Faux Tape Echo. I could be wrong.

Eddie's fine playing and tone are complementary with the Mavericks. Where he really shined was with Dwight, IMO. Still haven't heard a tele tone I like any better than his playing thru two ac30s on the 'Blame the Vain' tour.

There was another thread here recently, but I could not find it. One of our members asked Raul for a photo via social media.

I agree with you. An earlier version of the Faux Tape Echo.

Now this is just too cool! I love The Mavericks and Eddie's work with Dwight Yokham.
