    Peter James Bond.
There is no way he could replace Stumpy Joe.

I don’t think it’s Lenny Kravitz in the video. Should be AIC vocalist (since 2006) William DuVall.

Bruce Hornsby joining the Dead was rather odd.

Even more so was Adam Lambert joining Queen.

What I liked about Vince was that he had such a light-hearted stage presence. He helped the other band members not take themselves too seriously. Which at that point mattered, because the audience wasn't there to listen to the music anymore.

And I have a lot of respect for anyone willing to take on the most dangerous (dare I say Deadliest?) job in show business: Grateful Dead keyboardist.

The time we brought this guy, Paul, back into the band to replace the guy we replaced him with. Never rehire a drunk to replace a crackhead...

Vince/Brent both but Vince especially : sooooooo dated keyboard/synth patches/sounds.

I know there are maybe 3 or 4 good shows the last 10 years of that band but, I cant take a chance of hearing some old Dead chestnut arranged w/ Bob James tinkly keyboards or DX7 on it...

That's not actually Lenny Kravitz, someone was making a joke. His name is William Duvall, and he was frontman of a band called Comes With The Fall before joining AIC.

    He is pretty good.

I saw Gary when he was front VH during the 3 tour. That was a huge Oops, it may have clicked for Eddie but it didn't in the studio and it sucked, yes VH was terrible, on tour.

I liked Brent an awful lot. But I just never could get behind Vince. He seemed like a really nice guy, and he had some great vocals, as evidenced by that Star Spangled Banner before opening day at Candlestick. But like @Mike Eskimo says, those keyboard sounds..... It always sounded like he was playing a toy Casio with the small keys. It wrecked the sound as much as Donna did with her caterwauling.

I've always wondered if the fan's failure to embrace Vince played a part in the depression that lead to his suicide.

I literally said to myself "What the hell are you doing here?" when I saw Vince with the very lame 1994 Dead. THE VIBE HAS LEFT THE BUILDING. Brent was good, if a bit of an over-player, but the Michael McDonald vocal sound he had I could never get used to. Donna? Love her! Saw many great shows with Donna.

Gary on VH, that was a weird one, but if you got to see them live, you will notice that he is an amazing singer and actually could perform all VH catalog better than David or Sammy, very ironic huh?

I gotta agree with you there, and I'm a GnR AND an ACDC fan. But Axl, belting out Back in Black or Highway to Hell? No....just...no.

Hmmm. I'm still very fond of the recordings that came out of the Hornsby period. I thought his piano style fit in very nicely.

Ouch! Money is nice. I just enjoy Peter's sound a lot more than I like hearing those two women they hired. He's much more soulful.

But George Michael with Queen, IMHO that really did work! Wouldn't have thought it would.
