i associate that color more with sgs and lp jrs but that looks way better than a burst is going to look.
Looks pretty awesome already !
Maple neck ?
I went with a pau ferro from a Deluxe Nashville tele, I have a Nashville with a maple board and I love it so I figured I'd go that route. A little different but the same
I think you should go with your instincts, and finish that guitar in your own unique and wonderful fashion.
Then, sell it to some notable (but otherwise not very famous) guitarist like Harold Kama Jr, or Doyle Bramhall II, and then use those profits to buy you and me a pair of vintage Hodaka Combat Wombat motorcycles.
We could go ride the trails and fire-roads all between here and Johnson City, Tennessee.
We might camp and hang out and learn the local jokes.
Pick up a stray dog named Moak, and teach him to shake, and play dead.
Only that whole playing dead thing might strike a chord with one of us, and we might go into a melancholy funk over the memory of a dog we had and loved back in 1987.
And then I, I mean one of us, might get drunk and ignorant, and find all of us thrown out of a trailer park in Rome, Georgia at three in the afternoon.
Aw, never mind.
Who needs that hassle?
You do whatever you wanna do.
I'm gonna shut up now.
I just leave this
No burst. That’s a great color as is.
Black binding maybe. But the guitar does look nice as is.
I most definitely won’t black out the edges or make any kind of burst.
as an aside, if it were me, I wouldn’t do a pick guard. No neck pickup. No middle pick up. Just a custom John Bolin humbucker in the bridge.
Maybe some pinstriping.
You can’t improve on perfection
blackening the edges with a blowtorch is a bit extreme, don't you think?...
Test the look.
Get some black masking tape or even some black paper,
and make a cutout of the black edge look you want,
and just lay the paper over the guitar.
I vote no on the black, but your guitar, do what you please.
I think it looks great as is.
Looks great to me right where you have it!
I agree, there’s not a good idea on Earth you can’t screw up by ‘improving’ it! That guitar looks great as it is.
I would leave as is, but it's your guitar.
Mess that up and I'll visit you in your sleep.
Funny thing is, it want even supposed to be all cherry red. I made the best of a bad situation an this is the result
I like the red as is...but not the black pickguard...I like this look...slight burst going on here !!!
I love bursts but what you have there now looks really good.
