I was a the Guitar Center yesterday playing a Fender Standard Telecaster through a few amps. I really liked playing through the VOX AC10 (I also played through an AC4 1-12, Fender Mustang3, SuperChamp X2, and a BassBreaker).

My Baja though my Mustang III sounds pretty durned good on a number of settings. I love the Deluxe Reverb I set up for clean, and I'm really digging the SuperSonic setting for some overdrive.

I have a firm belief that tone is in the bottle and that the better the bottle the better the tone!

And I actually use it as my #1 for gigging...they weren't built to just sit there.

The two I like best are a late '90's Vox AC-15 TB for Beatle/Tom Petty tones. Or a Rivera S120-210, a stereo tube amp with a Roland Space Echo in the loop. Good rockabilly/country-rock tones.

Like many others here, a vintage-style Tele into a Tweed circuit - 5E3 Deluxe (not so loud) or 5E8A Tweed Twin (louder and tighter) - is hard to beat for me. I recently switched to Area pickups (Area Hot T bridge and Area T neck) to eliminate noise in some clubs. Been happy with that sound so far. I primarily do Blues, Swing, Blues flavored Rock and a little Jazz.

A 93 MIA Tele into my Trinity 18 (Marshall 18 clone).

Zhangbucker Bell Tone pickups and two 2x10 Greenback 10 loaded Avatar cabs round out the equation for great tone.

However, I may be picking up a tweed or Brownface Fender in the future. If I do, it may give the Trinity 18 some competition!
