It can be very consistent without being accurate. You need a scale for weighing things 50 lbs. or less to get more accurate on small weights.

    Very nice!

But is there such a thing as 6-star feedback? Are we up to 6 now? I thought 5 was max.

Who says we're not walking around naked picking up berries? That's why I wear my 8 lb, 9 oz CV 50s BSB when I'm outside.

So you keep this one until they get a lighter one from Fender, then return it and they send you the newer one?

I'd still get your local post office to weigh it, both for your own sanity and to make sure you don't swap it for a heavier one.

My "weighed it three times standing on my digital bathroom scale" method was off almost half a pound, and what they might get for a lighter one could be 7.8lbs or so.
The fact that a digital scale gives you tenths doesn't mean it isn't off by a pound or two.
It would suck to send them a 7.5/ 7.8 pounder and get a new 7.8 pounder, then have them weigh the return and be a little unhappy with you.

You know my bathroom scale lies quite a bit, it's just what these things do. I think it's a bit unfair to punish the seller with a bad review without absolute proof that they lied to you. It's quite a serious thing to call somebody a liar, so....

The guitar arrived in good condition and they even gave you a surprise bonus. I wouldn't make such a big deal out of it, it could have been some simple mistake.

I'm pretty sure my bathroom scale tacks on 10 or more pounds just to mess with me. Those numbers are just, like, its opinion anyway.

Bathroom scales can be accurate. I’ve weighed parcels for shipping that we’re under 10 pounds on my scale and then taken them to
FedEx and UPS and they weighed the same to the ounce. It’s digital.

A true gentleman never asks a Tele how much they weight or even think about weighing them.

Never really understood the "weight thing". A great playing guitar is a great playing guitar regardless. A pound or two never has mattered to me. Years ago I bought a Peavey T-40 Bass new. After 30 minutes I played the rest of my set sitting on my amp. I still have her and play her every time I need a bass. Summary, I never have bought a guitar based upon weight and probably never will. BTW I am 60 and my Bass is about 40.

I played a 30 lb. brass sousaphone in high school. I love how people complain about an 8 pound guitar.

Most people do not understand it is more about balance between the neck & body than overall weight. A neck-heavy guitar tires me twice as fast as a balanced instrument that weighs 5 lbs. more.

I had the same model, weighed over 11 lbs. on a digital bathroom scale, but only 8.5 on a digital hanging scale.
