    Here are mine:

Ass Blown Off (best, duh )

    Banana Hammock
(that's what the founder really really wanted to call it, I was dead-set against it.
We didn't endure long enough for that to ever come to fruition, thankfully. But I'd've balked, i'd've refused to perform. The Hammock woulda had to go on without me )

I played a little with a band that called themselves "Common Joe". You would have thought that was an easy name to negotiate around, but people were always calling the band Common Man or Average Joe. Kinda like the Oneders. I thought that was funny; the leader not so much. He loved that name...

Back in the 80's, a friend of mine and I talked about starting a band called "Platypus Rex", but it never happened. Just as well, I think there are a couple bands with that name already.

    That I've been in?

Best was the Racecar Passengers, a punk band named after a Mitch Hedberg joke.

Worst was Midnight Sons, which my brother got from comic books. The problem was that after loads of random people from Japan, Korea, and loads of other places randomly added us on Myspace, I got to googling.... turns out, it was a boy band sounding pop act with that name, who were on the Pokemon movie soundtrack.
We promptly changed to Scarecrow Ministry (which the almighty Google showed at the time only had something to do with New Zealand or something?)

I wonder how many people were in completely unrelated bands with the same name who were completely unaware of one another.

I've, without digging very much, found 4 different people who were in different bands called "ANAVRIN" between 1994 and 2008 . (Its Nirvana spelled backwards).
I assumed the Hardcore and Screamo bands started getting sentence length band names because all the one and 2 word ones were taken......

Not only are we low-rent, but we’re crazy to be doing it.

Back in the late 80’s I was in a band called Loaded Gunz. That had to be the worst.

I don’t know if it was the best thing I ever came up with but my favorite band name was GS Harper and the Lonesome Tomatoes.

Los Homely Boys is hilarious. I threw together a band for a pickup gig one time and called it Los Hobos.

Here are the names of the four bands I've been in:

Special Guest - I joined as a hired gun and the band already had the name. I thought it was stupid.

Geo Pigs - Came up with it with a group of friends. We thought the cops were coming for a noise complaint, and we were all hiding when a car came; it ended up being someone in a Geo Metro. Thus the "Geo Pigs" were born - cops in Geos.

Helicopters Flying - it was the name of one of our original songs and a promoter liked it as a band name. Most of us thought it was stupid, but we could never agree on anything else.

Scratch Elder - Guitarist/friend came up with it. Kinda liked this one.

Man! I’ve always wanted to name a band the Sleestacks. I always get shot down.

Worst: Probably "Likkerschitz". I made a banner to hang behing the drum kit, spelled it out with gothic letters, etc. I actually suggested the name as a joke, and the other guys liked it. After a month, we had been booked maybe twice (surprisingly) but then it stopped. The other guys told me they need to change the name because it was preventing us from getting booked. I said, "The idea for the name was a joke, I made that clear, didn't I?"

The worst band name for me was
    called Loose Change

We were a Classic rock/blues band in from '89-'92.
Decent band, we all got along, still do ( just no one gigs anymore but me- we still jam every year)
I forget, either our drummer or lead singer named us.

He said something like " This band (music) is like something you just put in your pocket, like loose change!"

I thought it was stupid, sounded goofy, but I didn't fight it much.
I was just glad to be in a band with my friends ( or we would become...)

    * also for about a month I was in a bad idea, pickup band The Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers ( named by drummer)

It was an attempt to reunite my own band's original drummer, me ( I still have my own band), and a bass player friend. It did NOT work out, the name didn't help!
The other guys would forget at gigs, what the hell we had worked up at practice (too much herbal therapy?)
