Julia Dream... we worked the chords out by listening to the record on this one and using trial and error, we got pretty close........

we didn't have any guitar info, we learned chords off the little blocks above the song lyrics...

it was an epiphany ... their guitars are the same as ours..it's all on here...:cool::D

I had already been a bass player for several years, on both bass-guitar and upright. I dove into guitar with this album. R.I.P. Nokie Edwards – one of the best ever.

Are you inferring that "notes out of the book" are not music?

What I meant is that it was the first tune I could play that I recognized by ear. My first teacher had me learning out of a Hal Leonard book that was full of a lot of tunes I wasn’t really familiar with. Once I started playing melodies like twinkle twinkle and Yankee Doodle my ear could hear it and confirm I was really doing it ! I felt so satisfied haha.

Hopefully that makes sense to read haha

3 chord wonder. Folsom Prison Blues!
When a family member recognised it (After about 4 weeks from starting) it gave me the confidence to try more. Loving the guitar at nearly 60yrs old.Why didn't i do this when I was a pup?

Riders in the sky... my dad showed me an easy way to play that riff on my first guitar... that I pawned my Sega Genesis to buy.

Still my go-to when I want to try out some new guitar/amp combo. I just love instrumental surf. Nowadays, the guy who taught me this says "I'm so tired of that tune. A pox on that song!"
