“Running to Stand Still” by U2. Not a big U2 fan anymore (like some songs, love a few, yawn at most), but RTSS is a great song for beginners.

My first tab book was Black Sabbath, so the first song was probably Black Sabbath.

On guitar, the first song all the way through was 'Moon Over Marin'
Bass?, who knows. That was a long time ago. I think I mugged along with root notes to 'Ziggy Stardust'

I don't remember the first song I learned to play.

I do remember the first song I learned to play and sing.

Pearl Jam - Elderly Woman Behind A Counter In A Small Town.

Hey, it was the early 90s and I was in school.

    And actually a pretty song.

Dust in the Wind, performed for the 5th grade XMas talent show (I backed up the choir on Feliz Navidad as well ;) ). Didn't get DitW picking right until considerably later (age 47).

The whole song? Start to finish? That was Under the Double Eagle...the arrangement from the book Bluegrass Guitar by Happy Traum.
