what other size singles did you have?

I have several 10" singles (Lemonheads, Dinosaur Jr, Mega City Four)

I also have a 5" single.. which looks really odd, it's 'Tangerine' by Buffalo Tom.. 5" orange vinyl.

Taken from discogs, I can't be bothered to get mine out.. it looks nuts, it's mostly label. 😆

Actually I just thought what mine might have been... Highly likely as I remember buying it and I'd just started working and had money.

I got started in the 50's, so there are lots of 78's, 45's and LP's. Too many to go count. And I still have a working turntable, but now it has USB capabilities.
I can't say that I've ever encountered a 12" single. When were those available?

Hoo boy. Blue Monday, quite possibly? I might have had Careless Whisper or West End Girls (Pet Shop Boys) on 12" a few years before that, as a junior high kid, but the memory gets hazy doesn't it.

There may have been 12" singles before but it mainly started in the 70's with disco records, then all the way through the 80's and 90's. It seems like they only really went away when people stopped buying physical singles altogether.

Another 'Blue Monday' vote here. At least I think so, it's been a long time.

We had quite a few 12" singles back in the 80s.

This is the only one I ever bought. Joe Piscopo does Sinatra with a big band singing Joan Jett's "I Love Rock & Roll". The flip side is Piscopo as Sinatra doing " Born to Run". Brilliantly done and hilarious!
