Wow. That is amazing. If I ever win the lottery I'm going to the nearest Collings dealer to buy everything in stock. Their guitars are unreal.

Stage One pedal steel. Lightweight mechanically sound and expressive. This guitar exemplifies how far pedal steel design and mechanics have come in the last 50 years as far as marrying professional level function, sound, and transportability.

    bliss on a budget

All year I was infected with H1-ES335, characterized by unrelenting hunger for a good semi-acoustic. Just before Christmas, I came across this gently used Ibanez AS-93, in Polonium-210 blue. It's very well made and plays beautifully. My only upgrade was to install Gibson Classic 57 pickups, which I love.

For me it was a 1966 Fender Electric XII.

Now I can play everything form When The Levee Breaks to Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass.

Twinkie, that Fender XII is awesome. I read somewhere that Page recorded Stairway with a XII, though he never used one on stage.

I bought two, and they're both great guitars. A Larrivee LV-03E acoustic and a Gibson Les Paul Special with P-90's. Very happy with both of them - nice compliment to my stable of Fenders and Rickenbackers.

Its a toss up between a 70's Ibanez L6-S that I got for $20 (it sat in its case for 30 years....or buying back an awesome Agile AL-2500 w/Bigsby. Both happened the same week.

For 2012 it was finding this 1957 Gretsch 6120 in mint condition with the cowboy case, strap, original receipt and cable along with a 61609 Chet Atkins amp with all the original glass, footswitch, original replacement fuse in envelope inside the cabinet and 2 Jensens in an antique store.
