no idea. The ad had it listed as lavender but it's not quite lavender but it's not quite blue either. Your guess is as good as mine. I doubt it even has an official name. Danos of this era don't even seem to have serial numbers (at least i've never found one)

I built this one. Warmoth L5S hollow body, flame maple over alder, maple/rosewood neck, Brierley P90s. Tone to die for.

The only new addition has been my Goldtone Paul Beard resophonic. I AM however, hemming & hawing about a Les Paul...
I did get a great deal on a Goldtone Irish Tenor Banjo today though.

2012 was an amazing year instrument -wise

-I got my first Tele: a MIJ 52-TX, with a Luther Lee 59 sound bridge pickup

My other acquisition a Vox AC30 C2 is also visible on the pic - modded with footswitcheable FX loop. (New EHX Memory toy and holy grail there)

    - I also upgraded my old custom made LP. Threw the SH-8 invader away and put a Luther Lee P-90 there. Sweeeet.

My other 2012 guitar acquisition is a Martin dxc1e - despite all the bad stuff I read about these HPL-back guitars, I went ahead and tried one. It blew me away, much better than other "real acoustics" at the same price range. It has that Martin sound. OK, not a D-53, but that I couldn't afford.

Bought two new guitars in 2012, both Telecasters in the broader sense and bringing my Tele tally to six; a Japanese Tokai TTE70 Breezysound in rosewood veneer over ash and a Chinese Fender Modern Player Thinline Deluxe in sunburst. At present they are both unmodified, although I have some ideas for the future. Both excellent instruments, but if anything I very slightly favour the Thinline. However, it's an extremely close-run thing indeed.

I think all I bought this year is my Epi SG, I could be wrong though

After looking through my posting history here for 2012, turns out I was quite wrong

So, I'd say the best guit I got this year was probably my Reverend Buckshot, although I'm still not crazy about the neck.

    It's a tie.

My CGC Custom LP jr. style is the most amazing electric guitar I've ever played.

My Carvin Custom Shop SB4000 bass is the most amazing bass I've ever played.

Both were built specifically for me, and spec'd out by me, to get exactly what I wanted, and I couldn't be happier. Both will be with me for life.

Coincidentally, I also think I'm done buying off the rack. I won't rule out a used piece I find a screaming deal on, but I now own three custom instruments built just for me, the way I asked for them. An electric, a bass, and an acoustic. All of them cost me less than their production "equivalent", that truthfully, aren't in any way equal. I can't see myself spending any more money on cookie cutter crap unless it's an emergency.
