Best this year is another Gibson. A Midtown with P90's. I'm really stoked to finally own a semi hollow Gibson.

This year it was a Mexican Standard Strat - what a great guitar.

Next year I hope to get a Gretsch G5420 in Aspen Green even though the lefties don't have a Bigsby.

Back in March I bought a 2004 Gretsch 6119 Tennessee Rose, made in Japan, a wonderful Gretsch!

Which I sold last week to a member here on TDPRI. Turns out I'm just not a Gretsch guy.

it would have to be this one! brand unknown but i think it's made by Galveston. delightfully cheesey! and sounds like no other guitar on earth! coolest headstock i've ever seen! needed some TLC to get it up and running. and needs more to be perfect but for now it plays pretty good!

Well I would say 2012 has been a great year for my guitars.

Epiphone Limited Edition 60's Les Paul (love it).

Epiphone BB King "lucille"

But this is my new prized posession...Wildwood Thinskin Nitro -AVRI Jaguar in Turquoise with matching headstock.

'66 Fender Precision with '69 maple/black block Jazz neck. Okay, it's not a guitar, but it's pretty darn cool. Try to get pic later.

None!

I finished up a partscaster back in 2011:

And I've ALMOST finished a scratch build in 2012:

With most of the parts collected for the NEXT one, and plans in my head already for the one after that, I don't see me buying a guitar next year, either. I may very well never buy myself another guitar. I blow my money on tools these days....

Those both look pretty sweet. I keep thinking about building a guitar. Maybe I'll give it a go in '13. That'll give me something to read up on and plan out.

It was definitely a Tele: either the AVRI '52 that I bought in March, or the orange sparkle '72 Deluxe that I bought yesterday! I'm still in the honeymoon with that one so it's tough to be objective.

I need a drool cloth for that... man that's a sweet looking guitar!

It plays like a dream. I was apprehensive about the "60s-style profile" neck but it is really great. The upper fret access is excellent, which is something you don't find on a lot of semi hollow body guitars.
