Beautiful - plain top, always the best look on a LP
'96 Lone Star strat in teal metallic.
Thanks! I love the plain tops too, and there's no way I would pay another grand for flames.
2012 Epi Nighthawk. Did lots of buying and selling this year, but this one stands out as the best "bang for the buck".
Martin HD-28. Most beautiful sounding Martin I've played in a while. Dry and Punchy like a cannon! Love it!
My Norman B20 dreadnought acoustic. Hands down the best acoustic that I've had the pleasure of playing. Perfect neck and the sound is really open and harmonically rich. Very loud, too. Just begs to be played hard!
A close second is my parts tele with a P-90 in the neck position. Awesome sounding guitar.
New 2010 MIA Telecaster. Woo Hoo!! Well, it's the only one this year, but still.
Finally got me a 52RI - should have got one much sooner
Only bought one! A Custom Shop '62 Strat!
I didn't buy any guitars for myself this year... except for a new snark/strings..
I think the year went too fast.... and I don't hang out in guitar shops... .
I bought parts to make guitars to give away to others though... leftys and rightys... that was a reward in itself...
I sold a bunch of my guitars and a load of parts this year, to try and focus on finally finishing some of my projects. In one of my "horse trades" I got a recent (Chinese-made) Gretsch Corvette that someone had stripped and someone else had started putting back together. Even with the junk parts it came with it immediately felt perfect to my hands and I LOVED playing it. So of course I took it all apart and haven't managed to finish it yet...duh.
Terrible pic of it because apparently I can't link to my photobucket from my phone)
I love my Gretsch Pro-Jet!

2012 Gibson Memphis Lucille
I did good this year. Gibson Midtown and a PRRI. And a Gretsch Pro Jet. There were deals to be had and I did a lot of selling on eBay to make it all happen. Only problem is that I'm now Tele'less!
1959 Reissue ES-175
Probably the only guitar I fly this year is a 96ish Ibanez Talman in green with the flame top veneer.
I plan on putting a Wilkinson bridge on it at some point. My two year
old loves it. The blue strat I got at the same time, but it moved down the road for some xmas gifts.
Sent from my Galaxy 500 using TDPRI
Rough question, as it's been a banner year for me and guitars. They're all nice.
2 partscasters, because the THD here made it look like fun.
VM Jaguar for Christmas.
Gretsch 5120 for my birthday (not until January, but I have it now).
One of those inexpensive Yamaha acoustics hawked in this forum (it'll get here before New Year's, so it counts).
My daughter's Jay Turser 19" scale strattish thing.
Sure, for some of you guys, that's a lean month , but more than I've bought in a year ever. Anyway, to answer the question, probably the Gretsch, but I love'em all.
The only guitar I've bought this year is definitely the best one I've made for many years.
My new vintage sunburst 335. I love her dearly............ and I've always been a Fender guy in the past.
It's a tie for me:
Best acoustic purchase of 2012: Martin OM-35
Best electric purchase of 2012: Fender '52RI Telecaster
Can't decide between the '52 Reissue & the ES-335. The Gibson is seriously starting to gain ground on the Tele.
