    I'm not satisfied with how my Reverend Tricky Gomez's tone controls work, so I thought I'd experiment with different cap values, but I can't seem to get a read on the current bass cut cap's value with my multimeter (treble cut cap reads a little off of 0.022). Can anyone tell from this picture?

    There is nothing printed on the other side of the cap. Obviously tolerances can create a bit of a range, but just knowing what the value is "supposed" to be will help.

    Thanks!

    Thank you! How is it you interpret it to come to that conclusion?

    102 = 1 0 and 2-noughts (in picofarads) = 1000 pF (pronounced puff) = 1 nF

    Thanks!

    I wonder then how come I was able to read the treble cap? I never de-soldered it, and the control works fine, so it must be connected.

    I knew you'd say that. :D

    Sometimes it reads, sometimes not, all depends on the circuit it's in. I never paid enough attention to be able to tell why and why not.
