What type of snake is this?

If snakes just slithered across the floor at random times my mom would freak out. I like the design, but I'd treat all snakes, even non-venomous ones, as venomous. Better safe than sorry I guess

The pattern is what threw me off, in all my time living in this area all I’ve seen are black snakes some small some big, this is the first one I’ve seen with distinct markings though
