I just had a baby snake slither across my floor

I usually just pick em up because we mostly have harmless black snakes but this little guy had markings all along it’s length almost like a python pattern

I’m curious what it was

All I had to grab in the moment was my trusty chicken claw backscratcher to hold it at bay, don’t think it’s poisonous but doesn’t hurt to be cautious

I’ll tell you what this snake wasn’t happy, never seen a little snake hiss so much, did my best not to hurt it

Almost didn’t get pictures because it was so furious

What type of snake is this, one of you guys surly knows

It is the famous rubber snake, used to pull pranks on friends and tdpri members. 🐍🐍
No it was very real

Glad I was up late to catch it, who knows where it would be now (although since I released it I don’t know anyway)

I went on my state’s website of known snake species in the area and I couldn’t find anything that looked like it

I’m not sure what to make of it, but I definitely would not attempt to handle any snake unless I knew for a fact that what species it is. I looked at pictures of Cottonmouths and saw some dark ones, but nothing that looked just like that, but I wouldn’t rule out that it could be a cottonmouth. There are a lot of variations in markings, and it could be some local subspecies, and I read a description of juvenile cottonmouths that seemed to fit.

I was kidding you. You are right to be careful around those though.
