Yep, just that. Will be there for a few days next week. Anything in the area that's fun or interesting?

If it were me, I'd go
About forty-five minutes southeast of Thibodaux, Louisiana
Lived a man called Doc Mills South and his pretty wife Hannah
Well, they raised up a son that could eat up his weight in groceries
Named him after a man of the cloth
    Called him Amos Moses, yeah

I'd do a lot of eating and looking for a place to hear some good Cajun music. Other then that, not a clue. Sorry.

    Uh no, The best one.

Not much to do in the swamps of Louisiana unless you know a guy with a boat or you like hunting and fishing. You know that TV show "Swamp People"? It really is pretty much just like that. I was born in New Orleans and spent half my childhood there and southern Louisiana in general. Thibodaux is a cool name and fun to say and that's about where the fun ends.

But...New Orleans is about an hour one way and Baton Rouge is about an hour the other way. Pick one and go.

I was C.O.O. of a hospital in Shreveport years ago and my Director Of Pharmacy was a Cajun from Thibodaux. He used to joke that he was born with webbed feet. He said they took a pirogue (wooden dugout boat) through the bayou to church each Sunday. He didn't learn English until the first grade. Each year at the department's Christmas party he would recite the Cajun Night before Christmas. Santa would cross the coulee (stream or bayou) in a pirogue in lieu of the sleigh and reindeer. It was a lot of fun.
