Does anyone know what strings come on the American Standard Strats at the moment? (guage and make, (fender i imagine))
I've been playing one and no strings i've tried since the ones that came with it have been as good. Would love to know what they equip so i can buy more.

Many thanks

Thanks fellas,

Out of interest sjtalon, why do you suggest going to the 10s?

Higher gauge strings are a bit harder to bend - that is, they feel less like rubber. A lot of people think thicker strings give a better, fuller tone.
I won't say that you should go to 10s, but you should definitely try different gauges. You might find that you like thicker strings better, or you might even find you prefer 8s.
Experiment - that's the way to get better tone and playability. :D

I'll quote some of ledet's comments:

>thicker strings give a better, fuller tone<

Usually the factories put light strings on a guitar so when you pick it up in the store and play it you say WOW is this easy to finger/bend/play, ect,.

Going "up" one notch in gauge is not that big a deal as far as playability but quite noticeable in tone. Well worth a try.
