My Mesa/Boogie Express 5:50 has better sounding reverb than my '66 Vibrolux Reverb, '67 Super Reverb or former '68 Princeton Reverb! No tremolo, though!

Want it all??? Try the Fender Custom Shop Dual Professional, bias vary tremelo and the Classic Fender tube driven reverb unit in one amp.
Note that this amp has no channel switching, so there is no high gain option, other than the Fat switch ala the VibroKing.
I get the grind from a Kingsley Jester.
Everything I need, except the rig is hefty!!

One of the things to look for is a spring reverb in a box. Fender spring reverb is excellent.

Electronic reverbs are not even close.

The best reverb I have ever heard.........Mid 60's Ampeg with spring reverb.

The old blue tolex Ampeg Amps had seriously great reverb, some of the Gibson combos with built-in reverb do too, blackface amps have nice reverb, and I agree that the older gibbs tanks sound better than the current/recent accutronics ones, and the Fender Vibro-King has great reverb too.

Had an old Gibson Thunderbird something or another. It had a separate speaker for the reverb. Thought it sounded pretty good but my buddy had an Ampeg that smoked it. Wound up buying a Twin Reverb so I could get vengence for the other guys drowning me out.

I Won!!

Not only do old Ampegs have great reverb, but Ampegs were the first amps to include reverb.

My PRRI and TRRI have very nice reverb. I once owned an Ampeg Gemini II with beautiful, lush reverb. Wish I never sold it. I replaced the accutronics tank in my BJ with a Ruby tank which produced a deeper warmer sound not as good as the PRRI but a big improvement. In fact, I had to install a taper pot on the reverb knob on the amp for better control.

I dunno, I still think a 2 knob or 3 knob reverb gives you the control to suit the widest variety of situations and song types:

Even though I love the reverb on my SFDR, DRRI, and PRRI, I have to say the deepest, most lush reverb is on my Mesa Lonestar Classic 2-12. It has an adjustable Bright or Warm switch and has the most wonderful 3-D quality to it.

Consider the Dr.Z EZG50 also. The built in reverb is almost as good as an outboard such as their Z-verb (amazing, I have one) or the Fender '63 shown above.

The Vibro-King is an overall extraordinary amp. Fantastic tone, verb and tremolo. A lot to consider! Has the 63 verb built in, and a great mono trem to add to what is already a good tone generator and that 'fat' switch really works good to complement a tele tone too. Plus it has an effects loop.

The new Mesa Boogie Electra Dyne has the best non-Fender reverb i have ever heard :!: :!: :!:

Deluxe Reverb is pretty bloody sweet too

I think i read on the Mesa forum (Grailtone.com) that these two amps have the exact same reverb

My Peavey Solo Series Bandit 75 had a great sounding Accutronics Type 4 reverb tank. I loved it, and even ran in the effects return and out the pre amp out to use the tank by itself as an outboard effect for recording.
