What Speaker Is In My 1968 Fender Deluxe Reverb

    This is on the paper label behind the blue label.

    That is the standard late 1960s BFDR speaker. Oxford 12k5.

    I think the date code is the 49th week of 1967 (Oxford has th 465 code).

    I bought this amp for $70 in 1972 when I was in the Air Force. It had a blown speaker and, being poor, I replaced it with a Radio Shack speaker. When I started playing again in 2009, I had it completely rebuilt; new tubes, new caps, and a grounded cord. And I found this re-coned speaker on eBay.

    Did you keep the old tubes?
    They're probably better than the new ones, particularly the preamp tubes.

    Yes, except for the reverb driver, which blew and was replaced.
