I'm pretty sure I've performed Sweet Home Alabama live more times than Ronnie Van Zandt did when he was alive.

I've been playing Paradise since I was a teenager. One of the first songs I learned - I didn't expect to see it make this list though. Nice!

In the last twenty years or so I don't think I have done many gigs without playing "Come up and see me make me smile", "Stuck in the middle with you", "Route 66". "Sweet little rock 'n roller", "Sunny Afternoon" or "Crazy little thing called love".

Funny how with some songs, you feel like maybe you've played and sung them more times, that the original artists!

John Prine is just SO GOOD through a long career.
I just got from Oh Boy Records online ( for my wife) a 2 disc CD ' Mailman' of very early live John P., playing songs that would later be on his first 3 albums- very cool. You can tell its smaller rooms to fans familiar with the songs. Just John and upright bass. Great!

I haven't played out since 2003 but which ever song is the oldest of these I played the most Free Bird, Gimme three steps, Old Time Rock and Roll or Takin Care of Business. Every typt of music I played did these songs, Polka, County, oldies once the became oldies, Top Forty when they were Top Forty.

I learned David Crosby's acoustic version of Triad when I was in college. I love the open strings, the harmonics and the (then for me) advanced chords. Even when I put away the guitar for years, it was the one song I remembered by heart when I picked it up again.

Was gonna say “Silver Wings” or “Guitars and Cadillacs”, "Only Daddy That'll Walk the Line", Mustang, “Gimme Three Steps”, “Sweet Home Alabama” “The Fireman” “Neon Moon” “The Chair” uhg... This was in a country band I was in back in the 90’s And these songs were tired then. I can’t believe these songs are still a thing. I would just shoot myself if I had to play The Chair again..

It hit us one day when we realized we forgot how the song Silver Wings actually even went. We had grown so sick of the song that we started changing the words, putting music and lyrical quotes from other songs as far afield as Satisfaction and Inda Gada Da Vida etc,. Within a song that is supposed to be a pretty ballad... we forgot how to do the song straight with no horsing around.. So, we mustered all our collective professionalism and decided if we were going to play the song at all, we would do it right…so, we never played it again!!:p In truth if somebody requested it, we warned them we were going to butcher it and, it was like having a license to kill...
I almost forgot another song like this. We were so sick of a waitress requesting “Devil Went Down To Georgia” at a particular bar that we literally did version where we swapped verses with “Walk This Way” and started getting request for that version, so, it back fired on us.

U.S. Blues. Been playing that one since it came out in 1974. I STILL like the tune! Never get tired of it. "Wave that flag, wave it wide and high!"

I'm stuck two of those myself. Jenny and Summer have been on the set list since they came out.

I absolutely can't stand mustang Sally or Brown eyed girl I've played them so much. Money has to go in the jar for me to find the motivation. Musical Prosititution I suppose.

I've played in an original band for the past 25 years.... that's skewed the numbers a lot and gave me a much needed break from many of the standards.

Some that come to mind might be....

    Guitartown
    Guitars and Cadillacs
    Chattahoochee
Cadillac Ranch (Springsteen, or the Dirt Band)
    Sweet Home Alabama

I'm sure each of those is well over 1K plays... and there are many others.
