I've been doing that too - for a while. Monster solo.

Have worked out a little of Love the Lonely out of You as well.

Satin Doll. I've played it for many years. Now I'm learning to play it on C6 lap steel.

Bobby Fuller's "I Fought The Law." It takes some athleticism in both hands to play it as well as he does, especially the solo.

Ha, I just had to learn that for a country gig this past Friday. I didn't know it was on the set list earlier, so the day of had to get down the gist of it. It was definitely played on guitars tuned down 1/2 step, especially apparent on John's solo. When we played it for the gig, we actually did it in G instead of F#, which I'm sure the singer really appreciated!

Trying to find a tab for the lead guitar part for Roy Buchanan's song Chicago Smoke House, but all the tabs I've found are only for the rhythm guitar.

We ended up playing it in G as well...it was the only song the singer had picked that would have had to been tuned down 1/2 step, and he had more than enough range to cover it in G, so it was an easy sell :)

Just found Pinball Wizard. Where has it been? The intro is beautiful. Feel like I've never "tried" it. Fun song that can be played up and down on the neck.

My strumming/timing is weak and this song should help.

I like to play easy and cool songs for my wife, but need to constantly work on my strumming and rhythm.

I am 59 and have been playing/collecting since the late '80s, although only my collection is great.

Still trying to get the solo to Chattahoochee up to speed. Freakin Mason. Right now it's all good at 75% speed, but sloppy at 178bpm.

Think I might try Head Over Boots next. Some neat licks in there.

'Grandpas' tackle box'. Can't seem to get all the lyrics right, in just four minutes.
It's the story of a death and how a family always fights over the remaining estate.
Meanwhile gandpas' whole life was inside a tackle box no one wanted, over in a dusty corner of basement.
Including a Polaroid of grandma back when she was hot, tucked in the lid.
    True story.
    To close to it.
    Steve Earle I am not.

Think I got it pretty good, but trying to replicate the intro on Johnny Paycheck's version of A-11.

Compared with Paycheck, the Buck Owens' version if pretty lackluster.

Currently trying to come up with some lead playing for Folsom Prison Blues, trying to come up with a bit more rocked up 2nd solo, been watching covers all afternoon on YouTube for inspiration, everything is either a bit too similar to the original or way beyond my current skill level lol. Some great covers out there though!

Thanks Journeyman, I signed up last week because of the Folsom stuff. Great lessons.
I've been struggling to keep up! I'm using his ending though, I can play that bit lol...

I haven't been taught much of this sort of stuff before, are any of his lessons a bit easier on there or is it a case of keep plugging away at all the hard stuff until it becomes easier? At least I understand him now, I watched one of his YouTube videos about a year ago And didn't understand half of it, I've learnt some theory since then though.
