What pickup in a 2008 Fender CS Esquire?

    Anyone know what pickup was in a Fender Custom Shop Esquire in 2008? Had one in my home "shop". Sounds like a Nocaster pickup, to me... Did they put something different in the Esquires back then?

    Black & Yellow cloth wires. Zinc plated baseplate

    I'm not really sure, but I have a 2005 '59 Esquire Toploader and the pickup seems to sound a bit brighter than a Nocaster bridge pickup I have in another Tele. Then again, the neck sizes are quite a bit different so it could also be the sum of the parts that make it sound different.

    Have the Nocaster pups even remained consistent over the past 10-15 years?

    This since-ended Reverb.com listing, and some other sites' chatter about this model, indicate that it was a Billy Gibbons/Seymour Duncan-designed custom wind.

    Shoot an email to Fender Customer Service with the serial number. They should have the complete build sheet.
